It seems only fitting that the opening post in our Real Wedding section should be the first ever wedding to be held at the stunning Garza Blanca Preserve Resort & Spa in Puerto Vallarta. Sofia and Alan were married March 21st 2009 on the spring equinox, marking the beginning of a beautiful personal journey for them and a breathtaking schedule of weddings at Garza Blanca Preserve.
The young couple, who were aged 24 and 25 at the time, enjoyed a religious ceremony at a charming traditional church in Puerto Vallarta’s downtown, followed by a legally binding civil and symbolic ceremony on the powder-white sands of Garza Blanca, surrounded by their extensive family and close friends.
At the time of Sofia and Alan’s 2009 wedding in Puerto Vallarta, Garza Blanca resort had been operating for just a couple of months welcoming guests reserved in the oceanfront penthouses and diners at Blanca Blue Restaurant, with plans for the second swimming pool and beachfront towers still in the pipeline.
“It was such a magical place for our wedding” said Sofia, “the beach is so, so beautiful and the wedding planners at Garza Blanca really helped us to organized all the unique elements we were hoping for.”
Sofia and Alan’s wedding was truly one of those fairytale weddings of love’s young dream, peppered with romantic details such as the release of hundreds of butterflies that even matched the color of the bridesmaid’s dresses, which were a subtle olive green, and ice-sculptures in the shape of kissing swans.
“I would do it all over again tomorrow!” Beamed Sofia when interviewed last week to share her real wedding experiences. “Who knows, maybe for our 25th Anniversary we could renew our vows again on the beach at Garza Blanca.”
Vow renewals is becoming very popular too at Garza Blanca Resort, with a number of different intimate venues for vow renewal within the preserve.
