What Most Brides Forget on their Wedding Day

What Most Brides Forget on their Wedding Day

Brides and their family often get so worked up about the planning process when it comes to the wedding that some of the most basic elements of the wedding day can be forgotten. These being the non-wedding (technically) related elements. Self-care, in some ways, is one of those things. Many a bride will be pampered and preened to perfection on her big day, but won’t necessarily remember to eat and drink enough.

This is sometimes due to stress and forgetfulness, but is often done in the name of dieting and ‘getting fit’ for the wedding day and its photographs. Even the fittest and slimmest of brides will generally take some measures to look as good as they can on their wedding day, and so a diet and exercise regime is neither a surprise nor a problem. It is key, however, that it is done right, and that on the day of the ceremony you take care of yourself. This will be one of the busiest, and possible longest, days of your life so you have to be fighting fit and ready.

Most of the groundwork for this will have been laid months in advance of your wedding day, but on the day there are a few things that a bride can do to make sure she has the stamina to last the full day without fainting spells or mood swings. Namely these are have a good breakfast (and lunch depending upon the time of the wedding) and keep some healthy snacks on hand. Prime options are wholemeal crackers and bread, avocado, veggies and hummus, or even a fruit salad and some high protein yogurt.

Brides should make sure they eat meals that are satisfying as well as nutritional on their wedding day,” shares Leslie Frausto, renowned wedding planner working in Puerto Vallarta. “That way, brides will stay cheerful, energized, and capable of fulfilling all your bridely duties as well as actually enjoying the day.”

Get enough water

Some people may tell you that drinking too much water will make you bloated on your big day, but actually the reverse is true. If you drink a good amount of water on the run up to your big day and stay hydrated during the day you will be less likely to experience bloating. Staying hydrated will also (over a longer term) keep the bride’s skin good and help you to manage your weight. Sipping plenty of water will also help you to avoid getting too drunk on all those bubbles that you’ll no doubt be drinking.

Your wedding day will be one of the biggest, most exciting days of your life, and so you should enjoy it, but remember to take care of yourself while you do.
